Hello world!

This is my first blog post. And I think, the best way to start off my blog post would be to get one thing cleared and that is the fact that – I am not a professional Writer!

Now, that we have established that, I would like to get into the business of writing this post! 🙂

I am just someone who likes writing, especially everything that comes to my mind. I believe in the power of the written word. This belief is what prompted me to write down my feelings in a journal for a long period of time. I just kept writing them day after day, but never really read it back to myself. One fine day, for some reason that I can’t seem to remember now, I read all of the entries from my (hand written) journal. Yes – all of them from the year 2003 until the very last entry (from 2015), and yes it took me a few hours to finish reading them.

As I was reading, I couldn’t help but wonder about the life and the experiences that I have tackled during the years. Although towards the end of the blog, I was feeling proud of myself for having surpassed all the challenges, there were a few areas, where I felt I could’ve done something differently. I am sure we all have those moments, when we reminisce and think of some of the mistakes we made and how we could’ve reworked that episode of our lives!

Whenever someone asks me to describe myself, I always say that I am a Survivor, a fighter! I fought to survive, I fought to secure my mind from losing itself, I fought to redirect my life into a path that I wanted, I fought to escape the oppressed environment that I was forced to live in, I fought to free my mind from the torments of that experience, I fought for my life! And I have always been proud of that. But that day, after reading my journal, one thought kept running through my mind! One thought that I could’ve reached out for help or at least tried to help myself sooner rather than later. It is this thought that prompted me to start this blog.

Through this blog, I wish to share my viewpoints on various ‘Causes’ that I strongly support! And I hope that my blog will someday be a stepping stone or a ray of sunshine to people like me who are probably waiting to get help! Maybe, it will prompt them to reach out for help sooner rather than later.

Having said that, I wish to reiterate that I will ONLY be posting on topics with a positive spin, we don’t need any more negativity, do we?

I hope you stay tuned to find out more. Happy Reading!

  3. hi 🙂
    stepping stones hey ^_^
We was just having a discussion about how when life throws stones on your path, you can duck, get hit, stumble or you can gather them up and build stepping stones 🙂

    keep moving forward

  4. Hey Isabel, Thanks for the nice words about the post.
With regards to the Menus, you need to login to your WordPress account and click on WP Admin, then click on Pages > Add New Page so that you can add the pages that you want featured in the tabs. Add as many pages you want. Once that is done save your setting and go to WP Admin > Appearance and choose Menus. Once you get here, hit ‘create a new menu’ and add the tabs/items that you want. Once you have added, them, give the menu a name and save. After this you will have to edit the menu and rearrange the order under menu straucture. Click each tab and link it to the page you want featured there. Finally save your settings. This should work, try it. If it still does not work for you, email me a screenshot of the problem you face and I will email you step by step instructions. Good luck with your blog! 🙂

  5. Uh!uh! stepping stones is what I need right now. Your post really talks to me.
Enrolled on Blogging101 to learn a bit (and a bit will be huge for me, as right now I’m feeling really technologically challenged) about making a blog , and then Do Something about my thoughts and my desire to just write.
Thing is I’ve been having loads of fun reading other peoples blogs and admiring their skills and how well they write, and not so much working on mine. And I can’t even understand the language . I see we have the same theme and you have 4 items (menus???) up there. But every time I try it either “Home” or “About” disappear from mine. Do you have the time and do you think you can give me just a pointer? Thank you. Isabel
