A Special Halloween!

The Halloween spirit is in the air and everyone is getting ready to celebrate! The first thing that comes to mind when we think Halloween are costumes, after candy, of course. I love dressing up for Halloween but, I do not like to spend a lot of money on my costumes, which is why I prefer DIY costumes. My son, on the other hand, wants custom made or the ones right off the store. His interests keep varying at different times depending on who his favorite super hero is at the time, so I hold off on shopping for his costume until just about a week before Halloween!

This year though, I had to dress up for a party we organized at work. The big question as always was “What do I wear?” I wanted something that was safe for work. So I went with some of the obvious choices and picked the easiest one to do! I chose to go as Minnie Mouse!

It was the easiest costume to put together. All I needed was a red skirt, black blouse, black stockings and yellow shoes…lucky me, they were all available right in my closet! The only thing I spend on was getting the Minnie mouse headband.

Now that the costume was settled, the next thing to decide on was desserts! I had opted to do a part of the desserts for the potluck. I needed to do something that fit the theme. A quick search on Pinterest gave me a lot of options, I settled on the Witches Broom and the Witches Hat. (Looks like I have an affinity to witches!)

Well, what can I say, it was a lovely day at work with my colleagues. We had all dressed up in really exciting costumes, cooked up some really good food and had a fun day. Check us out in the pictures below!

My son had a fantastic evening too, he went trick or treating with his mates from his Tae Kwon Do class, had a glow Halloween party with pizza and candy and soft drinks…in short he had lots of fun and when I picked him up at 9, he was on a sugar high! 😀 But I am glad my little one had fun too, after all, isn’t that Halloween is all about – FUN!
