The Time Machine!

“Mom, you sure this is a good idea?”

“Yep, I’m sure! You wanted to see the world from the 18th Century, now we can experience it firsthand!”

“How? I mean, will this thing actually work?”

“It’s not a thing, it’s called a Time Machine, Adi”

“Yea, the Time Machine or whatever, is it really going to work? It just looks like an hourglass structure to me”

“Trust me, I know! It’s going to work!”

Adi stopped to think and then spoke quickly “Mom, what if we’re unable to come back?”

“Then, as always, we continue to live for the moment!”

Word count:100

This 100 words story was written as a part of the Friday Fictioneers Writing Challenge by Rochelle. I was tempted to write a story when I saw the photo prompt, but could not come up with anything. Just when I was thinking of giving it up, my little boy came to my rescue! He approached me asking to pretend play going through a time machine with him. Of course, he was in all Star Wars mode, but that little game of ours inspired me to write this story. I hope you enjoyed it! 🙂
